Websites and apps to find and book the cheapest flight tickets
Websites to find & book flights
Bruxx
Website to search for flights departing from Brussels Airport. To book the flight tickets, you will be redirected to the website of the chosen airline. But if you need a website to find the cheapest destinations or cheapest flights, this one can be really useful. Also a good website if you don't know which destination you want to go to. They have a tool where you can enter the desired period and desired maximum price and based on that you will see which locations/flights meet these criteria. Plus you can filter by price to see which location is the cheapest to fly to (at that moment).
Google Flights
Useful website if you already know to which destination you want to fly and in which period. But you can easily adjust the location and destination and see other options very quickly. The website also has a lot of filter options, such as the number of stopovers, which airlines you (do not) want to fly with, what your maximum price is, around which time you would like to depart and around which time you would like to fly back and a few other filter options.
Booking.com
Normally I only use Booking.com to book my accommodation. But now you can also use it to book your flights.
Skyscanner
Website I use if the destination of my departure flight is different than the location of my return flight (their Multi-city option). You can also choose whether you want to land at the same airport as where you left. But that is not an obligation. On this website you have a few standard filter options as well, such as stopovers and departure times. To book a flight, you can choose to book it on the website of the airline (but then you may have to make 2 separate bookings) or on a website such as eDreams, Opodo, Supersaver, Kiwi.com, Travelfrom.nl and Mytrip BE or Mytrip NL (where you can book both flights together). You can of course also search and book directly on one of these websites. Sometimes you even get an extra discount on these websites and/or by subscribing to the newsletter of that website. But on Skyscanner you can see more clearly how much your flights would cost individually on each of those websites.
Extra options:
Other websites where you can book cheap flights, are
- BudgetAir.be (NL/FR), BudgetAir.nl (NL), Budgetair.co.uk (EN)
- Cheaptickets.be (NL/FR), Cheaptickets.nl (NL), Cheaptickets.com (EN)
- Expedia.be (NL, FR, EN), Expedia.nl (NL, EN)
- Goedkopevliegtickets.be (NL, FR, EN)
- Kayak BE (NL, FR), Kayak NL (NL), Kayak.co.uk (EN)
- Lastminute.be (NL), Lastminute.com (EN)
- Tix.be (NL), Tix.nl (NL), Gate1.co.uk (EN)
But I don't have any experience with these.
I mostly use Bruxx, Google Flights and/or Skyscanner to search for the best flights and then book them on the website of the airline company itself.
Apps to search & book flights
These websites also have an app:
Expedia
Available in both the Apple App store as in the Google Play store.
Kayak
Available in both the Apple App store as in the Google Play store.
Skyscanner
Available in both the Apple App store as in the Google Play store.
There are probably many other websites and apps where you can compare flight fares and/or book your flight tickets. If there is one that should certainly not be missing here, you can always pass it on to me.
