Travel blogs and websites with the best city trip tips

Are you someone who loves to look up all the most important activities, sights, places to eat, ... in advance? Then it can be useful to check these travel blogs and websites before you leave. Or for inspiration for the location of your next city trip.

Citytrip.be

The url of the website can't be more clear. This travel website and travel blog focuses mainly on city trips. The list of destinations is limited but on each destination page you will find a section about the city itself, an article about the best places to eat & drink, where to shop and go out, which museums to visit, ... All content is only available in Dutch and French, so no English unfortunately.

GetYourGuide

GetYourGuide is the ideal website (and app) to buy tickets for activities. I've used this website myself, to buy tickets for the Top of the Rock Observation Deck in New York and to book the South Coast Tour by Minibus in Iceland (starting from Reykjavk). It's also a great website to find inspiration about things to do in the city you are going to visit. Simply enter the name of a city and GetYourGuide will suggest a whole range of activities and day trips you could do.

Spotted by locals

Spotted by locals is a travel website and travel blog full of local tips. They also have an app where you can buy city trip maps full of local tips, which you can check offline as well. Plus you can add your own favourite spots to the map and even add your own tips. I've once bought a Spotted by locals map of Paris and I've noticed you get to see a lot more tips than displayed on their website. So it's definitely worth the money.

Time to Momo

Time to Momo is a travel website that focuses on city trips. They work together with Flemish and Dutch people who live in the cities that you can find on their website. I know Time to Momo mainly from their fun physical city guides. The choice of cities where you can find tips about is limited, but new ones are added all the time.

TripAdvisor

I think most (frequent) travellers will know TripAdvisor. I mainly use their travel website to check reviews of restaurants and hotels and to discover the top activities of a city. But you can use it for much more. They also have an app.

And of course, the CityTripTips blog

As soon as I find the time to add blog posts to this, I hope this travel blog can be of great help. In the meantime, you can always contact me if you have any questions about any of the cities I have already visited.
